Awesome PEC Call for Idea Submissions:
Making Our Community More Awesome with Micro-Grants

AwesomePEC provides hassle-free micro-grants for the best ideas to help make the
County more awesome. Our next submission deadline is February 1, 2016.

For this particular round the focus is on food, and we’re thrilled that Slow Food The
County has partnered with matching funds for a total of $2000 to be awarded to the
best food-related ideas that will benefit our community.

AwesomePEC is the Prince Edward County chapter of the Awesome Foundation, a
worldwide community started in 2009. At each autonomous chapter ten or so volunteer,
local, “micro-trustees” pool some of their own money to help a person or group of people
make a great idea happen. AwesomePEC helps make great ideas a reality by awarding
quarterly, no-strings-attached micro-grants, usually of $1000 each.

The only requirement: your idea must benefit our PEC community. It’s not about
personal gain, but about improving the collective experience of local residents and

Slow Food is a grassroots, worldwide movement to counteract fast food and fast life. It
champions local farming and food production, positive environmental practices,
conviviality of the table, and availability of “good, clean and fair food” for all.
