The Prince Edward County Convivium held its annual general meeting on February 28 at Books and Co. Over 40 people attended, and this the afternoon of the men’s Olympic hockey final!
The meeting featured:
- A presentation and book signing by Jeff Crumb and Bettina Schormann, authors of From Earth to Table.
- The election of a new executive committee – Peter Fleming is the new chair, Cynthia Peters is Vice-chair and treasurer and Diane Rheaume is the Secretary
- The addition of new members to the Core Committee – Elizabeth Blomme, Colette Drisdale, Jennifer Edwards, , Treat Hull, Sebastien Schwab and Sylvia Cambray and Erica Wolfe. Renewing members are Lorren Leveille, Karin Desveaux, Suzanne Biro, Tim Noxon & Vicki Emlaw, Heinz Haas and our Past Chair Rebecca Leheup.
Treasurer Cynthia Peters presented a review of financial operations for 2009 showing financial health for the Convivium and outgoing Chair, Rebecca Leheup outlined the slate of activities undertaken in 2009.
The incoming Chair, Peter Fleming, noted that the infusion of fresh energy and new ideas with new members and the financial stability and experience of returning members promises a year full of new accomplishments in raising the profile of Slow Food’s Good, Clean and Fair message.
